Fitness Classes

As a continuation of the Milton Skating Club’s commitment to skater development we are pleased to offer a Flexibility and Core Stability Training Class to all Intermediate and Senior skaters for a very minimal charge of…
$100 for entire season.

Who?
Sherylene Leslie will be running the Milton Skating Club fitness program this upcoming season. A former Novice Competitive and Gold test figure skater, Sherylene is a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Consultant with a Diploma in Fitness and Health. She is enthusiastically devoted to the ongoing studies in fitness to enhance the wellness of everyone around her.

Why?
A cross-training program comprises a highly effective, streamlined, powerful cross-training technique that can have an immediate impact on the skater's competitive performance. This program develops the muscle explosion required to execute a double jump, the control of power necessary for learning excellent jumping techniques, and the balance required to execute moves that aid in edge control. For those who do not cross-train, your body plateaus, when it executes the same movements from your chosen sport over and over. Cross-training introduces your body to a new set of movements and motions which challenge the body and the mind to something new thus opening up new muscle sensory pathways. This in turn will allow you to reach new levels in your primary sport.

When?
Monday’s 5:15-6:15pm (Intermediate/Pre-Competitive)
Monday’s 6:00-7:00pm (Senior/Competitive)
The classes are open to all intermediate and senior skaters, regardless of what day they are registered to skate.
The classes are included for all Pre-Competitive and Competitive members.

Where?
The class will be held in a banquet room at the Milton Sports Centre.
All skaters are expected to wear regular skating attire with athletic running shoes.
